One of the daily used spice powder in South Indian cuisine. The measurement is given as parts. You can choose either a cup or small katori or a spoon as a measure.
4 parts Dhania seeds (Coriander seeds)
1 part Toor Dal
1 part Channa Dal
1 Tbsp Fenugreek seeds
1 Tbsp Urad Dal
1 Tbsp Mustard seeds
About 6 parts Red Chillies (measure dhania, toor dal, channa dal, fenugreek seeds, urad dal, mustard seeds) …whatever is the measure use the same quantity if its whole red chillies. If you are using red chilli powder then use half the quantity.
1. Dry roast each ingredient separately and grind each ingredient separately in to fine powder.
2. Mix all the powders after grinding together with 1 tsp of turmeric powder.
