Yah!!! I’m alive and blogging for the second day in a row. My, my what has the world come down to 🙂 Another small write up from my daughter, hope you all are enjoying her write up as much as I do. I wish she writes more as I’m left yearning at the end, don’t you agree?

Sorry, I promise I’m not food-shaming pancakes but I need to get this out of my system. I’m a little hesitant to say this, for I would not like to hurt the pancake or breakfast god as they have blessed us with dessert in the mornings. So here goes nothing.
They are PLAIN. P- L- A- I- N. It’s a burden sometimes because I have to put in that extra effort to walk over to the fridge or the pantry, open it, take the jar of maple syrup out, and then pour it on to my pancakes, and god forbid go put it back in its place. It’s clearly torture.
But in some ways this is a heavenly blessing. For someone who likes to try new things. The bland-ness of pancakes (excuse my language breakfast gods), allows me entice me and the people who wake up every morning to this type of food, with different varieties of toppings. So I thought to myself, “What could possibly be another way to spruce up this piece of cooked flour?” DING DING DING. An idea came knocking into my head. I opened the door. Guess what was standing there. SPICEAYYY CHOCOLATE.
I just opened the door to a topping that could rock the worlds of the sisters of the cooked flour family like my brother pancake: waffles, scones, muffins

Spicy Chocolate Topping for Pancakes

  • Chocolate chips -- 1 cup (6 oz)
  • Cayenne Pepper -- 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon Powder -- 1 tsp
  • Butter (unsalted) -- 2 tsp
  • Heavy Cream -- 1/2 cup

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chip and butter. Once melted add cayenne pepper, cinnamon powder and heavy cream and whisk them until combined. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  2. I made stuffed pancakes with orange marmalade with spicy chocolate toppings. Enjoy!!!
