Ok, Breakfast in our house even though a must is seldom elaborate. After just an hour of waking up, instead of feeling energetic I often feel like caught in the whirlwind of a tornado or hurricane. Its always a rush no matter how well I plan and added to that there is inherent fear that my younger one might wake up with a “Kadambari” song. Between the tunes of his cry and coaxing him to stuff some breakfast in his empty stomach I always feel like been forced to climb the Mount Everest in a day. With all that huff and puff, I find this shake to be the best part of the morning. Even though I don’t make chilled breakfast shakes on winters, they often end up as a blissful super-powered breakfast during warm, sunny days. Packed with goodness of berries along with protein fueled powder makes this the best breakfast smoothie one can possibly have for those who run like a bullet train. I also served this smoothie with hashbrown(potato patties) for little carbohydrate with a green salad side for a fresh start (I try hard to serve a balanced breakfast….remember I said “I try”). If you are like me always in rush, then try this smoothie, its really the best!!!

Strawberries — 1/2 cup fresh/frozen, washed, sliced in to half

Blackberries — 10 fresh/frozen

Protein powder — 1 1/2 Tbsp (I used women’s protein powder called Aria)

Milk — 1/2 to 3/4 cup (use as needed for desired consistency)

Ice cubes — few

Blend the berries along with protein powder, milk, ice cubes in a blender until smooth. Transfer in to a cup and Enjoy!!!
