Tiramisu is one of the most popular Italian dessert known to man kind or rather known to me. They are super delicious, rich, creamy and very easy to make with some readily available ingredients. Generally we make rich desserts for special occasions but Tiramisu is the only exception that I’m willing to make without any call for celebration.

Tiramisu is supposedly derived from Zuppa Inglese (English Trifle) which is made of pound cake layered with rum, cacao, pastry cream and other liquor that are often used in desserts. Tiramisu is a recent invention because the need for the dessert to be chilled for it to be safely consumed as some versions of the recipe uses raw eggs. Tiramisu means “pick me up” or “lift me up” either way this dessert truly justifies its name. The main ingredients of Tiramisu are Savoiradi cookies (Lady fingers), cream, coffee, mascarpone cheese, eggs, milk, and chocolate or cacao. I’ve attempted the modern variation of this dessert. Usually the savoiradi cookies are soaked in espresso and liquor mixture. In this recipe the cookies are soaked in mango-cream mixture. The taste is different but nonetheless delicious. For anyone who craves change do try this recipe and you’ll love the tropical taste. Enjoy!!!
