Kara Sev

Kara sev is the final snack that I made for this Diwali and the most spicy of all. This snack makes me very nostalgic and brings back fond memories that I deeply cherish. Just to tease my dad I made them with garlic and I had a mischievous smirk on my face all along. My dad can be very hilarious sometimes especially when he showcases his dislike for garlic. He would close his eyes, ears, Want to know more about this recipe?

I miss the chit-chat and the warmth of having relatives around me especially during festive days. Diwali this year was just Want to know more about this recipe?

Thattai (Flat rice flour crisps)

My husband’s favorite snack is Thattai. These flat crisps are very crunchy, tasty and crazily addicting that its so hard to stop with just one. Unlike many of the murukkus, this snack can be made without any machine, press or alike. All you need to know is how to mix the flours with salt and other ingredients and flatten the dough using your hands and fry in hot oil. The resulting crisps are very tempting Want to know more about this recipe?

Ribbon Murukku

My brother is visiting me and I wanted to make some snacks for him to munch. I made this murukku and it was so tasty that more than my brother, my kids are snacking on it every now and then. Just mix two kinds of flour and press it through the murukku machine with the right plate in hot oil and enjoy the excellent taste of this wonderful snack. Kai Murukku (Hand made Chaklis)

I learnt how to make this snack from my mother-in-law. When I first saw her make, it seemed effortless but I was soon proved wrong the moment I had the dough in my hand. Oh my GOD! learning how to make it perfectly is still a lesson in learning for me. This is my second attempt and the murukku’s are nothing like the ones made by the pro but nonetheless its made by me and Want to know more about this recipe?
